Monday 21 July: In our ongoing effort to provide the best possible service, we have migrated our website to a new and more powerful server. This move resulted in a number of our pages losing their formatting. We are working as quickly as possible to get the formats restored, but since there are over 2,000 pages on our site, it will probably take some time to complete the process.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may create, and appreciate your patience. Thanks very much!

Candida Program

by Jonas Yoder, ND, MH, CNHP

1. Eliminate: all antibiotics, birth control pill, and all pharmaceutical drugs.

2. Change Your Diet: Stop eating the foods that feed the yeast. This will starve the yeast and destroy its growth.

3. Immune System: Build up the immune system by using the herbs, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and other necessary supplements.

Diet

Eliminate:

1. All sugar-containing foods: processed sugar, maple syrup, honey (except tupelo honey), molasses, date sugar, turbinado sugar, and other quick-acting carbohydrates including sucrose, fructose, maltose, lactose, and sorbitol.

2. All dairy products except butter, yogurt, and cottage cheese (in small amounts).

3. Raised baked goods including breads, rolls, coffee cakes, and pastries that contain yeast.

4. Alcoholic beverages including wine, beer, whisky, gin, vodka, rum, and any other fermented liquors, and all fermented beverages such as cider and root beer. All fermented foods like sauerkraut, soy sauce, and tamari should also be eliminated.

5. Mushrooms and all fungi, molds, and yeasts in any form.

6. All pickled products: vinegar, salad dressing, green olives, relishes, and pickled relishes.

7. All dry roasted nuts, potato chips, pretzels, crackers, soda pop and other carbonated beverages, coffee, white flour products, pork of any kind (including pork chops, pork roast, bacon, ham, sausage, salt pork, lunch meats, frankfurters, hot dogs), and cheese of all kinds (except small amounts of cottage cheese).

8. Leftovers: molds grow in leftovers if they are not properly refrigerated.

9. Read your vitamin and mineral labels carefully. Manu B-complex and selenium products contain yeast as a base. Use only nutritional products that are labeled "Yeast Free."

Foods to Eat Freely

1. Two servings daily of eggs, chicken, turkey, lamb and/or veal; organically-fed animals that are not injected with antibiotics or hormones.

2. All vegetables except potatoes, corn, and yams (all of which are actually starches rather than vegetables). Baked potatoes are OK once in a while if they are baked at 500 degrees in the oven; this turns the starch in the potato into glucose, which is more easily digested.

3. Onions, garlic, cabbage, broccoli, turnips, Brussels sprouts, kohlrabi, with kelp and paprika for seasoning, along with lemon and cold-pressed oils.

4. Stew, using vegetables, tomatoes, chicken, and/or lamb.

5. Millet, brown rice, buckwheat, wild rice dishes (small amounts at first).

6. Use millet or rice cakes instead of bread. Corn muffins and corn bread are OK.

7. Avocado; use in salads or stuffed.

8. Fruit juices (from glass bottles only, with no added sugar). Freshly-prepared fruit juice is OK, but limited to two small glasses of juice or two servings of fresh fruit per day.
