Our Commitment to Our NSP Success Group
At Frank Meisse's Herbaganza in Springfield, Ohio, last weekend, Dale Lee, President of U.S. Sales for
Nature's Sunshine, told us that the most common complaint that the Home Office receives from Distributors is
that they are not receiving adequate support from their up-line.
We are committed to doing all that we possibly can to support you and to help you achieve whatever level
of success you have chosen for yourself and your Nature's Sunshine business. And we are also committed to
doing whatever we can do to help you train your down-line to train their down-line, to train their
down-line.
NSP has adopted the following commitment statement that all NSP Sponsors and Managers are strongly
encouraged to implement in their businesses:
- As Nature's Sunshine Herb Specialists, we are dedicated to serving the Managers, Distributors, and
Members in our Group.
- We know who they are, and we follow their monthly achievements with NSP.
- We communicate with them on a regular basis through meetings, newsletters, telephone calls, our web
site, email, &c.
- We recognize their successes, and we offer encouragement, assistance, and solutions.
- We provide them with ongoing product and business training.
You can find a copy of this statement, as well as a customer commitment statement, both suitable for
framing, on pages 4 and 5 of the March issue of your "Horizons" magazine. Please let us know if there is
anything at all you would like us to do to help you achieve your chosen level of success.
Our New Members-Only Web Site is Now Open for Business (Almost)
One of the most important characteristics of any successful organization is a high level of communication
among its members. With this in mind, we have created a new web site that will be used exclusively by the
members of our NSP organization to share ideas and information with each other; it is password protected
(and the password will be changed periodically) so that only the members of our success line will be
able to access it. This ensures that we will be able to post information like names, addresses, and phone
numbers of our members without having to be concerned that they will become available to the general public.
For the present, the site consists of five major sections:
-
- Members
- This section is the Directory of Members and includes contact information (name, address, phone
number, email address, background and specialties, etc.) for each of our members. With so many different
modalities of natural health, it is nearly impossible for any one of us to become expert in all fields.
The directory will enable us to contact each other to ask questions, share ideas and information, and
encourage one another.
-
- Schedule
- This section will list times, locations, and contact information for meetings, classes, seminars,
conferences, and other events of interest to us as natural health practitioners.
-
- Business Tips
- In this section we will post suggestions on how to make our business more successful.
-
- Discussions
- Right now we have planned two separate forums or ?knowledge bases.? We refer to them as knowledge
bases because once the information is posted and begins to accumulate, it will be fully searchable so
it can be used as a repository of our collective understanding of the natural health profession. All
members are welcome and actively encouraged to participate in these discussions.
-
- The Natural Health Knowledge Base is devoted to questions, answers, and suggestions
specifically related to the technical aspects of our natural health business. Information in
this discussion should be concerned with any and all aspects of natural health and healing, herbal
products and their use, natural health therapies, and anything else that people in our organization or
interested in similar areas would find generally useful.
-
- The Business Ideas Knowledge Base will be used to record questions, answers, and
suggestions specifically related to the functional aspects of our natural health business,
such as: how to use Home Office resources effectively; business-building ideas for retailing, sponsoring
and training; ideas for reducing our income tax liabilities; developing and publishing communication tools
like web pages and newsletters; the legal, moral, and ethical aspects of operating a natural health
business.
-
- Archives
- This section contains articles, forms, and other documents developed or authored by members, links to
information on the Internet, and other tools we've found useful and collected for your convenience.
There are two ways to access this web. You can either go directly to the web at TheHerbDoc.com/members/
or you can click on any link that says "Members Only" on our main web site.
You will be prompted for a User Name and Password (both are case-sensitive, so make sure your CapsLock
key is off). The User Name is ********** and the Password is **********.
We really want this to be your web site, so please actively participate and encourage everyone in
your downline to participate also. If there is anything you would like to see added or changed, please tell
us about it.
Please check the Members Directory and make sure that your information is correct; let us know of
anything that needs to be changed. If there is some reason that you really don't want to participate
and you really don't want your information listed, please let us know and we will promptly remove it.
(Remember that nobody without the correct user name and password can access your information.) But we would
really like to have all of you be a part of this effort. This idea will only be as successful as we make it.
There are still a few "bugs" that remain to be worked out, but hopefully most of them will be resolved by
the time you receive this in the mail.
Before You Drink Your Next Cup of Coffee or Tea …
If you are a coffee or tea drinker, here are some independent research studies and facts which you should
know before you drink your next cup.
Heart Attack
An extensive study by Dr. Hershel Jick of the Boston University Medical Center indicated that those
people who drink 1-5 cups of coffee per day are likely to have a 60% greater risk of heart attacks. Those
people drinking 6 or more cups per day appear to have a 120% greater risk than do those who abstain.
The American Physical Fitness Research Institute reports: "A positive correlation has been found between
coffee intake and blood cholesterol levels in coronary patients."
Cancer
According to scientists from the Department of Epidermiology and Kresge Center of Environmental Health at
Harvard University, "About 25% of the bladder cancer in men and about 49% of the bladder cancer in women
could be due to coffee drinking."
Birth Defects
National syndicated columnist Jack Anderson reported that "a University of Illinois team found that too
much caffeine could cause birth complications. Of the 16 pregnant women who drank 6-8 cups of coffee per
day, all but one had nasty consequences." In addition, he wrote, "Another team of scientists, this one at
the University of Washington, has come up with corroborative findings."
Caffeine is in both coffee and tea
Coffee contains 100 to 150 milligrams of caffeine per cup and commercial tea has about 90 milligrams per
cup. Besides caffeine, tea also contains tannic acid which is used in the hardening of leather.
Decaffeinated coffee isn't the answer
Methylene chloride is the substance most commonly used to decaffeinate coffee. It introduces the same
carbon to chlorine bond into the body that is characteristic of many toxic insecticides.
Nature's Sunshine Herbal Beverage contains absolutely no caffeine or other stimulating acids found
in coffee, only roasted barley, malt, chicory, rye, and herbal flavorings. A family drink for all
ages. Add a teaspoon of Carob Tofu Moo for a delicious mocha latte, either steaming hot or chilled!
Try it, you'll like it!
How to Become an NSP Manager
One of the inserts in this month's newsletter is a table that shows what can happen if two people in an
NSP household go an absolutely minimal supplementation program consisting of Super Supplementals, Mineral
Maintenance, Alfalfa, and Garlic, avoid caffeine, milk, and carbonated/sugar beverages, and start purchasing
a few personal care products from themselves rather than from their competitors (like Wal-Mart and Kmart),
and then show only five other couples how to do what they are doing. With this amount of effort, they could
be NSP Managers with an additional $225 monthly income.
You Might Be An Herbalist If …
… you're on a cleanse — and enjoying yourself.
… you've ever thought of encapsulating the algae growing in your fish tank.
… your favorite form of music is a symphony, because it has so many movements.
… you think having a lawn full of dandelions is a good thing.
… you think the meaning of "moral fiber" is "psyllium hulls sold by an honest person."
… you really like supplements that taste bad.
… you sent Melatonin to "Sleepless in Seattle."
… you seriously considered naming your son "Parthenium."
… instead of calling your spouse "Sweetie" you call him/her "Stevia."
… to this point in your life, you've burned more candles in your ear than on your birthday cakes.
