February 1999

Greetings from Abundant Life

Since Nature's  Sunshine was founded by the Hughes family in 1972, the company's  primary goal has been to make the knowledge of herbal medicine available to every man, woman, and child in the country. Over the years this goal has placed NSP on Forbes magazine's  list of the 200 best small businesses for nine consecutive years, and has made NSP the largest encapsulator of herbal products in the world. Now it suddenly seems that everyone from Kroger's  to Walgreen's  to some of the major vitamin manufactures wants to jump on NSP's  herbal "bandwagon." As an NSP Distributor, should this sudden "competition" concern you? Not in the least!

In a recent national survey, it was found that approximately 26% of those surveyed would select an herbal product on the basis of price alone. That means that 74% of your potential market is concerned with "little things" like quality and effectiveness. As an Independent NSP Distributor you have the opportunity to become an NSP Herb Specialist by attending an NSP Distributor School. At the Distributor School, you will be introduced to between 30 and 50 of NSP's  top-selling products and given a working knowledge of the body's  various systems and the nutrition they require to perform their proper function. If you register in advance, the school's  tuition is only $65 for a full day of classroom instruction. This usually includes lunch, and you will be given a voucher for $65 worth of products. They also offer significant discounts on products that you actually order at the class. You will also be given valuable materials on the products and hints on building a successful herbal business. There are always ?door prizes? in addition, which means that on the bottom line, not only is the school free, but through your discounts and the take-home materials and product samples you will receive, you actually "get paid" for attending!

At this month's  National Leadership Conference, a major restructuring of the school's  content was announced. All of the training materials are being totally rewritten with more of a slant towards the Chinese approach to herbology — remember that the Chinese have been the world's  leaders in herbal medicine for several thousand years!

Part of this interesting change in direction is that NSP Distributors will now be trained as NSP Herb Specialists. This may not mean much until you consider how this will affect your ability to "compete" more effectively with the large chain stores in your herbal business.

Go into any of the chain stores (including the large "nutrition" stores) and pick up any nutritional product at random from their shelves. Then take it to any one of the clerks and ask how the body makes use of this product. Ask where the raw materials for the product were grown. Ask what parts of the plant were used in the product. Ask about the quality control methods that were used in its production. Ask about other products that can be taken with this product to increase its effectiveness. Do you think you will find anyone at Kroger's , or WalMart, or KMart, or Walgreen's  (even in the pharmacy department), or even at one of the nutrition centers, who will be able to answer those questions for you? As a graduate of NSP's  Herbal Specialist school you will be able to answer those questions about your product line!

Another very interesting change of direction for NSP this year is the renaming of many of their products to provide a better indication of the product's  use. For example, SN-X will become something like Respiratory Aid, STR-J will become something like Stress Relief. That should make it much easier for all of us to remember the particular properties of most of our products.

The very first session of the newly-reorganized ?Herbal Specialist? school is going to be conducted as part of our area's  Spring Herb Conference. Stacey Killpack will be teaching the school, and the Hugheses are going to try to attend also. Even if you have already attended a previous Distributor School, you should try to attend the "new and improved" version. After all, remember that it's really free! An information sheet on the conference is enclosed.

The Kick-Off speaker for the conference will be Dr. Leonard Horowitz, author of Emerging Viruses, Aids & Ebola.

Did you know that the AIDS virus was man-made, possibly as part of a bacterial warfare experiment by the U.S. Government?

Did you know that epidemic diseases like AIDS, cancer, chronic fatigue syndrome, Gulf War syndrome, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, lupus, Guillean Barre, asthma, autism, hyperactivity, and attention deficit disorder are currently delivered to our children in their preschool vaccinations?

Did you know that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has known about these contaminated vaccines for over four years and has refused to do anything about them?

Did you know that the government is lying to you when they tell you that you must vaccinate your children before they may attend school?

You simply must hear what Dr. Horowitz has to say on the subject before you decide to allow either your children or yourselves to be vaccinated!

Also, be sure to read "Alternatives to Immunization and Antibiotics" in your current issue of Sunshine Sharing.

Other speakers at the conference include Dale Lee (Vice President of U.S. Sales), Lynda Hammons (Director of Quality Control), Dr. Jonas Yoder and Frank Miesse (Senior National Managers), Stacey Killpack (Field Sales Trainer), and Clinton Miller (Health Lobbyist). The organizers of the conference have already received registrations from all over the United States. This is going to be one of the major conferences of the year, and you need to get your registration in as soon as possible before the March 5th deadline. This will be a great opportunity for us to meet many of you face-to-face for the first time. Be sure to let us know that you are planning to attend so we can be looking for you! The registration form is enclosed.
