Herbal Program for “Multiple Sclerosis” (MS) or “MS”-Type Problems
In the health condition commonly known as Multiple Sclerosis (MS), the protective sheath or
covering around the brain, spinal cord, and/or nerves has been allowed to deteriorate. Just as with an electrical
cord, when this insulation becomes worn, short circuits can occur, causing big problems. What must be done to
correct this condition is to repair this "insulation" on the surface of the components of the nervous system by
supplementing the diet with the nutritional materials that the body uses to make this "insulation." The repair
process must also include detoxification, eradication of viral and parasite involvement, general dietary
supplementation, and elimination of all "junk food" from the diet.
"Insulation" Repair
The key to correct nervous system supplementation is to provided the body with the nutritional
elements needed to repair and replace the insulating sheath that surrounds and protects the entire nervous system
and to boost the body's general support of the nervous system as a whole. The primary elements needed for this
process are Lecithin and B-complex vitamins.
The primary building block of the insulating nervous sheath is Lecithin, which is normally
produced in the liver through the metabolism of complex B vitamins. It can be thus seen that the basic building
block in the process is the B vitamins.
There are three main causes of B-vitamin deficiencies, all of which require lifestyle changes
to reverse.
First, people who typically consume a lot of "junk food" do not include many B-vitamin foods in
their diets. The second life-style condition is that high levels of stress in the workplace or from concern over
personal problems causes the body to wastefully consume high volumes of B-complex vitamins, making them
unavailable for proper nervous system support and maintenance. Third, cholesterol-lowering drugs seriously
interfere with many important liver functions, especially the liver's ability to produce Lecithin.
According to Dr. Jack Ritchason (Little Herb Encyclopedia, Vitamin and Health
Encyclopedia), it takes as much as five to seven times as much nutrition to repair and heal the body as
it does to maintain the body. Since the nervous system "insulation" must be severely damaged in order to produce
MS-type symptoms, it is necessary to make large amounts of Lecithin available to the body for the immediate repair
process.
We recommend taking 20,000 mg of Lecithin daily until symptoms have been
alleviated for at least a month or two, then reducing the amount of Lecithin to a maintenance dose of 1000 to 2000
mg daily thereafter.
At the same time that you are providing the body with "free" (available)
Lecithin for the immediate repair process, you also need to be providing the liver with large amounts of B-complex
vitamins to get the liver's "Lecithin factory" up and running at full production capacity again.
The same dietary indiscretions that have resulted in the B-complex deficiency will have also
resulted in an overall deficiency of all vital nutrients — vitamins, minerals and proteins — and created an
environment in which viruses and parasites can thrive. This is one of the reasons that parasites and viruses are
so closely linked to the manifestation of MS-type symptoms.
External Care
This routine should be followed twice each day, morning and night.
1. Nourish and coat the nerves.
Apply and thoroughly massage in
Almond Oil to the entire length of the spine from the tip of the tailbone up and onto the back of the
neck, clear to the hair line. To adequately cover the entire spine, the oil should be applied at least the width
of the hand.
2. Oxygenate the nerves.
Apply
Vitamin E Oil (or use
Vitamin E from capsules) to the spine in the same manner.
3. Eliminate viral involvement.
Apply Bee Propolis to the spine in the same manner.
4. Detoxify poisons in the
nervous system. Apply Black Cohosh to the spine in the same
manner.
5. Carry the oils into the body.
Apply Herbal Adjustment to the spine in the same
manner. The capsicum in the Herbal Adjustment will also act as a catalyst to accelerate absorption and improve the
action of the other nutrients that have been applied.
Detoxification and Cleansing
Parasite Cleanse: As MS-type
conditions are historically closely related to parasitic infections, be sure to begin your program with a one-time
parasite-cleansing program. The
Para-Cleanse program is a 10-day program
specifically designed to support the efforts of the intestinal system in
cleansing and ridding the body of parasitic infestations. This carefully-formulated herbal combination
supports a healthy intestinal environment. Take for ten days according to package instructions.
Note
When killing parasites
please understand that they can be, and often are, expelled from any body opening, and should not be a
cause for alarm. The intent of the program is to expel them, as much as possible, from the bowel, hence the
emphasis on a good bowel management program, below.
Bowel Management:
Take one to four capsules of Cascara Sagrada at bedtime as needed to
produce at least two or more soft but formed bowel movements daily. This is absolutely essential to the
proper elimination of poisons and dead parasites. For every meal that you eat, you should have a bowel
movement of slightly smaller volume within eight to twelve hours after the meal. Think of your intestinal track as
a railroad tunnel: if twelve boxcars enter the tunnel and only eight exit, what happened to the remaining four
boxcars? Do you really want all that toxic waste sitting in your colon to be reabsorbed into your body as poisons?
"Green" Drink
We strongly recommend Nature’s Sunshine
Ultimate GreenZone® every morning. GreenZone
offers a perfect complement to a meal by providing extra nutrients and energy. It is easily metabolized into
energy and helps promote proper bodily functions, including waste elimination and immune capability. It provides
the following specific benefits:
• Is gluten-free.
• Enhances bodily functions,
especially elimination.
• Improves overall immunity.
• Helps the body normalize cholesterol
levels.
• Provides a meal that is easily
absorbed and metabolized into energy.
• Contains a full array of nutrients
the body needs from grains.
• Is pH-balancing.
We personally have a serving of Ultimate GreenZone® every morning. For each serving desired, we
blend one scoop of Ultimate GreenZone® powder, one 6-ounce container of Kroger® Carb Master™ yogurt (vanilla or
raspberry are our favorites), one-half of a banana, and enough purified water to make a 12-ounce serving. We use
Kroger Carb Master™ yogurt because it only has 3 grams of sugar compared to 25-35 grams of sugar for most other
brands, making it an excellent choice for diabetics.
In addition to the morning GreenZone, we suggest at least one additional serving of a "green
drink" as follows:
To one pint of purified water in a blender, add a handful of any edible green leaves such as Romaine or other
leaf lettuce or greens (except iceburg lettuce or spinach, as both are commonly treated with radiation, and
iceburg is totally devoid of nutritional value). Blend for one minute then filter through a paper coffee filter,
if desired. Do not add anything else and do not attempt to store any unused quantities. Always make and consume
this green drink fresh.
Dietary Supplementation
Lecithin, 520 mg: Take ten (10) capsules
four times daily (therapeutic does) until symptoms have been alleviated for at least a month or
two, then reducing the amount of Lecithin to a maintenance dose of two to four capsules daily thereafter. Increase
to therapeutic dose if symptoms seem to be returning.
Vitamin B Complex: Take 2 capsules with a meal three times daily.
Bee Pollen: Take one tablespoonful once a
day with a meal as a source of protein and additional B-complex vitamins. Not recommended for individuals with a history of pollen-sensitive allergies.
Formula Max: Take one
tablespoonful once a day with a meal. Contains a full
spectrum of multiple vitamins and minerals from vegetable sources.
Rice Bran: Take
one tablespoonful once a day with a meal. Additional source of B-Complex; assists the nerves of the body to properly assimilate blood sugar.
Wheat Germ: Take one tablespoonful once a
day with a meal. Source of Vitamin E. Neutralizes and eliminates free radicals (poisons) from brain and nerves.
Mugwort and Wormseed: Take 80 drops at
bedtime to reestablish nerve stability, rid the body of any parasites remaining after the preliminary
anti-parasite program, and to guard against parasitic
re-infection.
Diet Recommendations
Eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables (especially leafy greens)
and whole grains. Avoid red meats, coffee, alcohol, white flour products (pie, cake, white bread, crackers, pizza
crust, etc.), refined or processed sugar, all artificial sweeteners (use
Xylitol or
stevia instead), artificial colorings, food preservatives, fried foods, artificial trans-fats and
hydrogenated fats, Crisco, margarine. Read all product labels carefully when you go to the grocery store.
Only drink pure, clean, and fluoride-free water that you have full trust and confidence in, such
as Nature's Spring Reverse
Osmosis water. Be sure to drink at least 64 ounces daily.
Eliminate:
1. All sugar-containing foods: processed sugar, maple syrup, honey (except tupelo
honey), molasses, date sugar, turbinado sugar, and other quick-acting carbohydrates including sucrose, fructose,
maltose, lactose, and sorbitol.
2. All dairy products except butter, yogurt, and cottage cheese (in small amounts).
3. Raised baked goods including breads, rolls, coffee cakes, and pastries that
contain yeast.
4. Alcoholic beverages including wine, beer, whisky, gin, vodka, rum, and any other
fermented liquors, and all fermented beverages such as cider and root beer. All fermented foods like sauerkraut,
soy sauce, and tamari should also be eliminated.
5. Mushrooms and all fungi, molds, and yeasts in any form.
6. All pickled products: vinegar, salad dressing, green olives, relishes, and
pickled relishes.
7. All dry roasted nuts, potato chips, pretzels, crackers, soda pop and other
carbonated beverages, coffee, white flour products.
8. Pork of any kind (including pork chops, pork roast,
bacon, ham, sausage, salt pork, lunch meats, frankfurters, hot dogs).
9. Shellfish of any kind (shrimp, lobster, prawns, scallops, clams, oysters), including
squid, eel, and octopus.
10. Leftovers: molds grow in leftovers if they are not properly refrigerated.
11. Read your vitamin and mineral labels carefully. Manu B-complex and selenium products
contain yeast as a base. Use only nutritional products that are labeled "Yeast Free."
Foods to Eat Freely:
1. Two servings daily of eggs, chicken, turkey, lamb and/or veal; organically-fed
animals that are not injected with antibiotics or hormones.
2. All vegetables except potatoes, corn, and yams (all of which are actually
starches rather than vegetables). Baked potatoes are OK once in a while if they are baked at 500 degrees in the
oven; this turns the starch in the potato into glucose, which is more easily digested.
3. Onions, garlic, cabbage, broccoli, turnips, Brussels sprouts, kohlrabi, with kelp
and paprika for seasoning, along with lemon and cold-pressed oils.
4. Stew, using vegetables, tomatoes, chicken, and/or lamb.
5. Millet, brown rice, buckwheat, wild rice dishes (small amounts at first).
6. Use millet or rice cakes instead of bread. Corn muffins and corn bread are OK.
7. Avocado; use in salads or stuffed.
8. Fruit juices (from glass bottles only, with no added sugar). Freshly-prepared
fruit juice is OK, but limited to two small glasses of juice or two servings of fresh fruit per day.
